Philosophy Statement
Our Mission and Vision on Parish Religious Education
We at the parish of Saint Peter & St. Mary of the Assumption look upon religious education as a total parish experience involving not just the child, but also parents, families, catechists, and priests that form our parish community of faith.
We believe that religious education is getting to know Jesus and learning what is expected of one who chooses to follow him in the Catholic tradition.
Our program reflects an integrated learning experience, composed of learning catechesis, prayer, sacramental preparation, traditional catholic doctrine, biblical studies, liturgy, community building, and other dimensions of vibrant church life.
Through the light of faith, we hope to develop in those entrusted to our care a deeper relationship with God, and a willingness to be a witness to the world.

Dismissal Plan Guideline
Please review with your child before completing the Child Pickup Form.
Dear Parents,
We welcome you and your child to our program, and hope that it will be a productive year. At this time, we would like to establish a dismissal plan that will hopefully help us in dismissing your child (ren) from class safely.
—————————-
THE ENTRANCES/EXITS THAT SHOULD BE USED ARE AS FOLLOWS:
SATURDAY MORNING AND MONDAY, TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY NIGHTS…
Please enter through the MAIN ENTRANCE door in the large parking lot. All other doors will be kept closed. WE ARE ONLY HAVING CLASS ON THE SECOND FLOOR. The MAIN entrance and SIDE entrances may be used as exit doors.
(THIS IS ALL TO ENSURE SAFETY FOR YOUR CHILD)
—————————-
THE FOLLOWING ARE DISMISSAL ALTERNATIVES FOR YOU TO CONSIDER FOR YOUR CHILD:
SATURDAY MORNINGS, MONDAY, TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY NIGHTS….
Your child can be kept in the classroom until you come to pick him/her up. If you do not get to the classroom before the teacher has to leave, your child will be waiting by the main entrance at the security personnel station or taken to the office across the street to wait for you there. Please make sure to write your name as the designated person to pick up your child. If it is not the parent, a name of that person must be given to the teacher. Children, who are walkers, are asked to leave right after dismissal to go home.
—————————-
Students, who do not have a form filled out, will not be allowed to go home on their own or with another adult.
NOTE: Students will always meet in the classroom unless there is a special assembly.
If a student is late, he/she must go to the Hallway monitor obtain a late pass. Your child will not be allowed to enter his/her class without a note from the monitor.
Please review this Dismissal Plan with your child. Submit the child pickup form.
Thank you for your cooperation!
